Assignment 3 Report
Introduction
My chosen theme is Product Marketing. My application is shoes selling application. It’s main purpose is to show the 3D model of the shoes from a shoes image to view the details.
Description of the application
This app solves the problem of contemporary young people who like to shop for shoes online but don't know if it's suitable for them. Users can use this app to identify photos of shoes they want to purchase and display their 3D models and click the button to display other details of the shoes.
In my design, the main significance of the application is to help candidates who shop online find shoes that are suitable for them. Nowadays, buying day to day needs from a supermarket is one of the main activities that each one of us struggle to go through during the day. (Weerasinghe, N, Jayawardena,2020 ) Online shopping, as a major form of consumption, often presents the best-looking side of the product to users, causing them to not know what the overall product looks like. By using this application, a 3D model of shoes can be presented to users. While users can consider whether they are suitable for this product, merchants can also present more details of the product to users through the 3D model.
Experts believe that Extended Reality (XRs), which includes technologies like augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and mixed reality (MR), are promising technical resources for selling goods by offering virtual user interactions that mimic those encountered in physical usage. (Sharma & Dhote, 2022) Compared to VR or PC, this application uses AR application technology to better demonstrate its effectiveness. Compared to using this application solely on mobile devices (such as mobile phones), VR application technology requires wearing VR eyes or related devices to maintain the normal operation of the application. The main purpose of users is to observe the specifications, size, details, and other details of the product. If VR head devices are needed, it will be a significant expense for users, while AR applications only require mobile devices and require lower environmental costs.. Compared to the PC end, the PC end requires users to find the 3D model of the product in order to view the details, while AR only needs to recognize the photos to find the corresponding 3D model, reducing users' time.
The benefits of using AR application technology are twofold. Firstly, users only need to find the corresponding photos of the desired product to present their 3D model, reducing their time consumption. Secondly, users can use AR not only to see the 3D model of the product, but also to see its properties, materials, comfort and other indicators, in order to better evaluate the product.
Interaction Design
The Interaction Design used in the application allows for detailed information about the product by clicking the button below it. The main purpose of the interactions design is to let the users have a clearer understanding of the attributes of the product. Due to the fact that many 3D models of products cannot accurately reflect the value of the product in terms of material, it is necessary to present the attributes of the product to users in order to better reflect the value of the product.
Storyboard
When Jeff was playing basketball today, he saw his opponent have a pair of very nice basketball shoes. He wanted to ask someone where they bought them, and they told him that the physical store had sold out and needed to buy them online. He took a photo of the shoes and used this app to see the overall appearance of the shoes. The 3D model of the shoes was presented on his phone, and he saw more details of the shoes that he hadn't seen at the time, But when he searched for prices online, he found that these shoes were selling for 800 dollars. He was surprised why the shoes could be so expensive. After clicking the button, he found that the shoes used the latest carbon board and technology to make them so expensive. Therefore, Jeff considered and decided to buy these shoes.
Technical Development
The app uses Vuforia interface tech and buttons Onclick( ) function. The Vuforia interface provides me with relevant tools such as cameras, databases, etc which enable me to identify photos in the database. The Onclick in the Button allows me to display the product information I need to present next to the 3D model when I click the button.
Descriptions of 3D Models
The main 3D models I used are the shoes 3D Models. I use this 3D Models as the 3D shoes when the image recognition.
