Introduction
My chosen theme is Fear/ Phobia. My application is Fear high test application. It’s main purpose is to test people’s fear of height and encourage them to overcome the fear.
Teleport interaction
For example, Eason, a middle school student, is afraid of heights. To place him high in the real world, he would need to walk from the first floor to the top (or take the elevator), which has two drawbacks. The first is that it takes too long, and the second is that on the way to the top his psychological pressure will slowly build up and he will have the idea of withdrawing. And the interaction using teleport allows the Eason to be teleported instantaneously to the highest point of the tall building. Firstly, since the interaction is active, Eason must have completed psychological construction before touching the cube, which reduces the stage of self-doubt. At the same time, direct transmission can save a certain amount of time cost.
Technical Development
The app uses Oculus interface tech and teleport interactive buttons, as well as an action script for the wind to affect the player. TeleportOnTouch.cs is a script to enable the player to transfer, the Vector 3 elements of the location to be transferred minus the current Vector 3 elements of the player is equal to the distance to be transferred. When the trigger is activated, the player will be automatically transferred to the corresponding location. However, this script has a bug in Oculus (not in unity) when there is a block between the player and the teleporttarget.
Windeffect.cs let the player experience a force when moving into the area of the WindZone. The size of the wind and the room are up to the player. When leaving the area, the force will not have any effect.(some method are come from ChatGPT)
Descriptions of 3D Models
The main 3D models I used are buildings including different heights, trees and floors in order to build the city scene.
